In
1988, Doug Morrison founded Morrison’s
Truck Salvage Ltd. and Morrison’s Truck
Sales. Doug brought with him years of experience,
as has had been involved in the logging industry
for many years.
He was joined by his son, Steven, who had
been employed in the trucking industry and
later by his other son, Chris, who had been
a long haul trucker. Steven serves as Float
Truck Operator and Parts Manager, while Chris
acts as Sales Manager.
We
started parting out trucks and selling parts,
first to the local and Maritime markets, then
to the Quebec, Ontario and USA parts markets.
Now we are involved in exporting parts and
whole trucks to the overseas market. As the
business expanded over time, we became involved
in buying used trucks for resale. These trucks
include many applications, such as: potato
trucks, log trucks, transfer trucks and highway
trucks.
We then expanded stocking new truck parts,
new batteries, starters and rebuilt alternators,
as well as radiator recoring. At our Western
location in Hebron we opened a small rebuild
shop for differentials and transmissions.
Our company also operates our own float truck
to pick up and deliver anywhere in the Maritimes.
In 2000, we opened up a yard in Mount Albion
to better serve our customers in Eastern PEI.
The Mount Albion location is mainly used for
truck sales and a parts depot staffed by one
employee.
